--- ## Description The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), part of the NIH, is forecasting a forthcoming funding opportunity to support the development of a Clinical Data Ecosystem for Genomics (CDEG). The initiative aims to reduce barriers to integrating genomic data into clinical care by establishing a network that will: - Pilot best practices for sharing genomic structured data (GSD) across various healthcare settings, including primary care. - Develop standardized application programming interfaces (APIs) to facilitate access to genomic data. - Create open-source clinical software applications and databases that leverage these APIs. - Demonstrate the ability to share patient genomic data seamlessly as patients move between healthcare systems. - Refine and disseminate implementation resources to enable broader adoption of these practices. This program will use the U01 (Cooperative Agreement) activity code.
