Description

This opportunity from Cures Within Reach funds clinical repurposing trials led by US-based research institutions, aiming to improve the quality and length of life for US veterans and active military. Projects must use already approved drugs, devices, nutraceuticals, or diagnostics in new indications—specifically targeting unmet or high-priority medical needs such as mental health, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and brain injuries. The preferred focus is on proof of concept, pivotal, Phase I, or Phase IIA clinical trials, particularly those addressing unsolved diseases with limited treatment options, resistance, high cost, or significant side effects.

Eligible projects should demonstrate robust trial designs and are encouraged to include community engagement, especially for studies addressing health disparities. Community partnerships with organizations serving veterans or underrepresented populations are supported and, in some cases, required.
