--- ## Description The award, established by the ACS Green Chemistry Institute Pharmaceutical Roundtable (GCIPR), celebrates Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) companies for exceptional achievements in green and sustainable chemistry within pharmaceutical research, development, and manufacturing. The focus is on innovations in synthetic route development for starting materials, intermediates, or active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), as well as improvements in reaction conditions and manufacturing technologies. Submissions should demonstrate significant impact at meaningful scale, including process mass intensity reduction, waste minimization, environmental and safety improvements, and the reduction or elimination of hazardous chemicals. The winner(s) receive recognition at the ACS Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference, with an invitation to present their work. --- ## Due Dates - December 2026 (application deadline, anticipated/projected) *All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates.* --- ## Funding Amount - Award of up to $5,000. - Travel reimbursement: Up to $2,500 for transportation, lodging, and registration fees to attend and present at the ACS Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference (additional funds may be available for international travel per ACS guidelines). - Recipients also receive a plaque and certificates for team members. --- ## Eligibility - Open to Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) companies globally. - Recognizes company-level accomplishments in green chemistry and engineering that demonstrate a strategic commitment to sustainability. - No requirement for ACS or ACS GCIPR membership. - No geographic restrictions. - Submissions must highlight significant achievements in green chemistry principles at meaningful scale, including improvements in yield, waste reduction, process greenness, robustness, environmental impact, and reduction of hazardous chemicals. --- ## Application Process - Applications must be submitted via the [ACS Green Chemistry Institute application portal](https://gci.acs.org/).
