The Coastal Resilience Grant Program, administered by the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management (CZM) under the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, provides financial and technical support for local and regional efforts to address risks from coastal storms, flooding, erosion, and sea level rise. The program funds a broad range of activities, including vulnerability and risk assessments, public outreach, adaptation planning, redesign and retrofit of vulnerable public facilities and infrastructure, and shoreline restoration using non-structural approaches. Projects may cover planning, feasibility assessments, design, permitting, construction, and monitoring—all aimed at increasing community resilience to climate change impacts and enhancing the protection of natural resources and public assets along Massachusetts’ coast.
