The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) intends to launch a funding opportunity for collaborative, transdisciplinary teams to pursue bold and innovative neuroscience research. The program is designed for teams of 3–6 principal investigators (PDs/PIs) to address a single, focused goal that overcomes persistent barriers, challenges existing paradigms, or develops new foundational principles in neuroscience. Projects must be of such scope and complexity that they require an innovative convergence of disciplines and expertise, exceeding the capabilities of traditional R01 or Program Project/Center grants. The ultimate aim is to deliver outcomes within five years that significantly advance the NINDS mission and transform knowledge or practice in neuroscience, from fundamental discovery to human health.
