Summary: Funds collaborative research for innovative energy efficiency and transition solutions in buildings, neighborhoods, and industry with strong industry and societal collaboration.
This grant supports collaborative research projects aimed at developing innovative technologies and solutions to significantly improve energy efficiency and enable energy transition in buildings, neighborhoods, and industry. Emphasis is placed on projects that go beyond incremental improvements, such as efficient energy use, utilization of surplus heat, local power production, interaction between energy carriers, and shifting from electricity-based and fossil-based heating to renewable energy sources. Projects should address challenges relevant to large industry segments, foster cross-sectoral cooperation, and have the potential to reduce electricity use for heating, relieve the power grid, and cut emissions. Active collaboration between research groups, industry, and societal actors is required, and proposals must target key societal challenges related to energy and emissions.
