Summary: Biennial grant supporting foundational research in chemistry, physics, or engineering as applied to food processing and quality improvement, with a focus on mentoring emerging scientists.
The Collaborative Research Grant in honor of Marcel Loncin is awarded every two years by the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) to recognize and support a scientist or engineer conducting fundamental research in chemistry, physics, or engineering as applied to food processing and the improvement of food quality. Established in 1994, this grant aims to fund innovative research projects and to enable recipients to mentor the next generation of food scientists. The grant is open to both IFT members and nonmembers, and encourages research that advances the science of food and its application to real-world challenges.
