The College Gambling Prevention Initiative is an annual funding program by the Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling (CCPG) aimed at addressing the growing issue of gambling among undergraduate students in Connecticut. The initiative funds accredited colleges, universities, and community colleges to design and implement campus-wide activities and campaigns that raise awareness, educate students, improve campus policies, and reduce gambling-related harm. Emphasis is placed on utilizing evidence-based prevention strategies, training, community surveys, and awareness events such as screening days and resource tables. The initiative is a partnership with the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS).
