The College of Medicine Clinician Scientist K12 Scholars Program at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is designed to support the career development of early career physician scientists. The program offers mentored and protected research experiences, aiming to enhance the development and retention of junior faculty in clinical and translational research. Scholars benefit from didactic coursework, professional development activities, mentored support for grant application development, and annual research and salary funding. The overarching goal is to increase clinical and translational research capacity and to help scholars achieve research independence.
