Description
The College of Medicine Program Project Grants (PPG) at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) are designed to support teams of three to four faculty members with complementary expertise to conduct impactful basic, translational, or clinical research. The program aims to foster team science within the College of Medicine (COM), prioritizing projects aligned with MUSC Health and Strategic Areas, but specifically excludes cancer-focused research (such teams should apply to the Hollings Cancer Center Team Science Award instead). The long-term objective is for funded teams to secure external multi-PI grant funding, such as NIH PPGs, and to publish high-impact research. The program emphasizes innovation, integration of team members and projects, and the generation of strong preliminary data to support future grant proposals.
