Description
The Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC) administers the federal Community Development Block Grant program in Arkansas as the Arkansas Community and Economic Development Program (ACEDP). It funds projects that benefit low- and moderate-income people, prevent or eliminate slum and blight, or address an urgent community need. Its General Assistance set-aside principally supports public infrastructure and facilities, including residential water and wastewater improvements. A separate application covers slum and blight removal.
AEDC sets funding priorities using public input and the state’s Consolidated Plan. It gives priority to well-documented needs, projects ready to proceed, communities with lower average incomes, and projects aligned with the plan.
