Funding Amounts: Up to $500,000 for most categories; $245,000 for parks or senior/community centers; $30,000/job (job creation); $150,000 (post-disaster); typically 12–18 month project duration.

Description
The Idaho Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, administered by the Idaho Department of Commerce, provides funding to Idaho's non-entitlement cities and counties for the development and improvement of public infrastructure and facilities. The program is designed to benefit low- and moderate-income (LMI) residents, eliminate slum and blight (especially in downtown areas), and address urgent community needs, such as post-disaster recovery. Eligible projects include water and sewer systems, fire stations, medical facilities, public parks, senior and community centers, downtown revitalization, and infrastructure supporting job creation. Funding is allocated through competitive cycles based on project type, readiness, local match, and community impact.
