This initiative supports the commissioning of Black and Latinx composers to create new, adaptive works for performance by musicians of varying ages and skill levels. Organized by the American Composers Forum in partnership with The Juilliard School’s Preparatory Division, the New York Philharmonic, and the Sphinx Venture Fund, the program aims to foster inclusion and collaboration within the music community. Selected composers work closely with Juilliard students and Philharmonic artists to develop and premiere new pieces, with the goal of building bridges across generations and backgrounds through music.
