This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides funding for two primary programs: Comprehensive Housing Counseling (CHC) and Housing Counseling Training (HCT). The CHC program supports HUD-approved housing counseling agencies in delivering counseling and advice to tenants and homeowners on property maintenance, financial management, and other matters to help clients improve housing conditions and fulfill homeownership or tenancy responsibilities. The HCT program funds organizations that provide nationwide training for housing counselors. Both programs aim to increase sustainable homeownership, prevent housing discrimination and scams, and connect individuals and families with local, state, federal, and private housing resources. An additional Minority Serving Institutions (MSI) Initiative is available for eligible applicants partnering with or representing MSIs.
