Description
The New Hampshire Division of Historical Resources (NHDHR) administers the Conservation License Plate, or “Moose Plate,” grant program through the N.H. Department of Natural & Cultural Resources. Funded by license plate purchases and renewals, the program supplements conservation and preservation efforts protecting significant publicly owned resources that contribute to New Hampshire’s history and cultural heritage.
Eligible work includes preservation of historic buildings, bridges, cemeteries, structures, objects, cultural landscapes, and contributing properties within historic districts, as well as conservation, stabilization, and preservation of significant publicly owned archaeological sites. Projects must follow the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties, including the Standards for Rehabilitation. The program supports preservation of existing resources rather than archaeological research, engineering studies, new buildings, or reconstruction of lost historic properties.
