Description
This program provides discretionary grant funding to projects that enhance the safety, efficiency, and reliability of intercity passenger and freight rail systems in the United States. The initiative targets a broad range of rail infrastructure improvements, including but not limited to upgrades, expansions, and safety enhancements for both passenger and freight operations. The program is administered by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) under the U.S. Department of Transportation.
