--- ## Description This opportunity from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) provides funding for a participating partner of the Great Basin Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) to conduct research addressing critical information gaps in the inventory of vegetation cover and soil properties—including soil carbon—on military and other large landscapes in the semiarid uplands of the Western United States. The research aims to improve understanding of site resistance to invasive, wildfire-promoting grasses and site recovery after fire, supporting land management and military readiness on these landscapes.
