Description
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) invites proposals from partners of the Pacific Northwest Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) for a cooperative agreement to analyze bat distribution, activity, and disease status on two US Navy properties: Jim Creek Naval Radio Station (Washington) and Bayview Acoustic Research Detachment (Idaho). The project aims to confirm the presence, activity, and phenology of bat species and to test for the presence of the fungal pathogen Psuedogymnoascus destructans (Pd), which causes white-nose syndrome (WNS). This work will enhance the understanding of bat community dynamics and disease risks in these habitats and contribute to regional bat conservation efforts.
