Description
This cooperative agreement supports initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and uniformity of the national molluscan shellfish safety program. The funded project will focus on improving information exchange among federal, state, and foreign agencies, industry, and consumers; providing training, technical assistance, and education; and supporting research and meetings that foster a cooperative, science-based shellfish safety program. The ultimate goal is to help states identify and implement scientifically defensible food safety controls to reduce illnesses associated with molluscan shellfish, including those caused by Vibrio spp, Campylobacter, and Salmonella.
