Description
This Horizon Europe call supports projects that strengthen and coordinate the European Union’s role in the World Meteorological Organization’s Global Greenhouse Gas Watch (G3W) and its international governance. The action aims to enhance the EU’s climate data autonomy, global benchmarking, and international leadership in greenhouse gas (GHG) monitoring, reporting, and verification. Projects should develop innovative digital solutions—such as AI/ML-based tools—for GHG data integration, automate reporting obligations, and facilitate operational GHG monitoring at multiple scales. Proposals must foster international data exchange, support benchmarking and uncertainty characterization, and plan for global cooperation, operational transition, and policy uptake. Engagement with key EU and national stakeholders is required to ensure alignment with the EU’s commitments under the UNFCCC and Paris Agreement.
