Summary: Supports a U.S.-based training program on food safety regulations and standards for Armenian public and private sector officials to strengthen trade and regulatory harmonization.
The Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture is seeking proposals from eligible U.S. institutions to design and deliver a 1–2 week training program for nine Armenian mid- to senior-level officials from the public and private sectors. The program aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of U.S. food safety regulations and standards, facilitate knowledge transfer, and support harmonization with international norms, ultimately advancing bilateral agricultural trade and reducing barriers for U.S. products. The training should include both classroom instruction and field visits to relevant sites (e.g., food processing facilities, laboratories), and cover topics such as regulatory frameworks, risk assessment, HACCP, labeling, international standards, and real-world case studies.
