Description
This U.S. Department of State Bureau of Counterterrorism opportunity funds projects that help law enforcement counter the online recruitment strategies of U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs), including those using advanced technologies such as generative AI. The program seeks innovative, measurable approaches to disrupt online terrorist recruitment networks, enhance detection of AI-generated propaganda, strengthen platform resilience, and improve responses to digital terrorist threats. Projects are expected to include technical assistance for law enforcement, digital literacy education for vulnerable youth, and engagement with industry, with emphasis on investigative, prosecutorial, and information-sharing skills. A citizen reporting component in coordination with law enforcement is also required.
