Description
The New York State Department of State’s Office of Planning, Development and Community Infrastructure administers CRISP to help counties translate existing plans, studies, data, and community knowledge into actionable resilience investments. The program supports an inclusive, community-informed planning process that identifies climate-related risks, prioritizes projects, and establishes pathways toward funding, design, permitting, and construction.
CRISP emphasizes implementation-focused work rather than new comprehensive plans, climate adaptation plans, or stand-alone vulnerability assessments. Strategies should strengthen coordination across municipalities and sectors while delivering multiple benefits, including public safety, environmental quality, economic vitality, infrastructure protection, and equity. Eligible advancement products include grant applications, feasibility studies, benefit-cost analyses, preliminary engineering reports, conceptual or 30-percent designs, and permitting strategies that lead directly toward final design or construction.
