    Description

The Crop Protection and Pest Management (CPPM) program funds collaborative research, extension, and education projects that address critical pest management issues in U.S. agriculture. The program’s primary goal is to develop and implement innovative Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies to manage insects, nematodes, pathogens, weeds, and other pests at state, regional, and national levels. Projects that address invasive species management or leverage new and emerging technologies are especially encouraged. Outcomes should enhance food security, improve producer profitability, and support sustainable agricultural production.

CPPM supports two main program areas:

    • Applied Research and Development Program (ARDP): Funds research and integrated (research + extension) projects focused on developing and disseminating IPM tools and strategies.
    • Regional Coordination Program (RCP): Supports regional IPM centers to foster collaboration, information exchange, and stakeholder engagement across states and institutions.
