The Curtis Gates Lloyd Fellowship supports academic research using the collections of the Lloyd Library and Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio. Funded topics include botany, medicinal botany, ethnobotany, natural history, conservation, early travel and exploration, the history of science, medicine or pharmacy, and medical and pharmaceutical illustration. Projects are not limited to these subjects, but on-site use of the Library’s collections is required.

Fellows produce a project deliverable, such as a paper, publication, exhibition, website or video, and share their research through a public lecture or another presentation. Applicants must explain why the Library’s collections are essential to their project and identify concrete examples of materials they plan to use.
