Summary: Supports education, scholarship, and workforce development in artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity through scholarships and innovative educational projects.
This program aims to address the critical shortage of experts in artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity by funding projects that strengthen education and workforce development in these fields. The initiative supports two main tracks: the Scholarship Track, which funds academic institutions to provide scholarships for service in AI and cybersecurity, and the Innovation Track, which funds innovative projects to enhance the preparation of professionals in AI and/or cybersecurity. Recipients of scholarships must work in a government role related to AI or cybersecurity for a period equal to their scholarship support. The program is managed by the NSF in collaboration with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and the Department of Homeland Security.
