    Description

The Damon Runyon Scholars Program for Advancing Research and Knowledge (SPARK) is a one-year, full-time post-baccalaureate internship designed to encourage talented college seniors and recent graduates—especially those with limited prior research opportunities and from underrepresented backgrounds—to pursue rigorous scientific education and research careers. SPARK Scholars are embedded in the laboratories of Damon Runyon scientists at partner institutions across the U.S., where they receive hands-on research experience, intensive mentorship, and participate in both virtual and in-person programming. The program’s aim is to prepare these emerging scientists for competitive graduate or medical school programs and foster a new generation of scientific leaders committed to inclusive excellence in biomedical research.
