Summary: Supports US medical and dental students in hands-on summer projects addressing health needs of underserved or disadvantaged populations.
The fellowship provides medical and dental students in the United States with an opportunity to engage in summer projects that bridge medicine, dentistry, and community health. Projects should address the human needs of underserved or disadvantaged populations and may include clinical investigation, public health, epidemiology, or health policy analysis. The aim is to foster understanding of how biomedicine, social infrastructure, and community needs intersect to improve health outcomes. Selected fellows will conduct their projects over 10–12 weeks during the summer and are expected to present their findings at the Academy’s Medical Student Forum.
