This grant supports enterprise journalism projects that investigate threats to democratic institutions in the United States and around the world. The Pulitzer Center seeks proposals that address topics such as voting suppression, misinformation/disinformation, intimidation of election officials, politicization of election systems, political violence, dark money, and extremism. The Center is particularly interested in data-driven, investigative, and accountability journalism that exposes systemic issues and underreported stories.
