    Description

This opportunity supports the rapid implementation of clinical trials aimed at having a significant impact on the treatment or management of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Projects must be either phase 1 or small-scale phase 2 clinical trials and must directly address one of two focus areas: (1) biomarker-driven, disease-modifying interventions, or (2) clinical care and symptom management improvements for ALS. All projects must incorporate meaningful community collaboration to ensure relevance and optimize research impact. Proposals involving therapeutic interventions must integrate mechanism-specific biomarkers into the trial design. The program is intended to accelerate the translation of promising interventions or care strategies into clinical practice for the benefit of people living with ALS, including military service members and veterans.
