Description
The FY26 Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP) Impact Award funds applied, translational research with the potential for significant near-term impact on patient outcomes. Projects must address one of the congressionally directed FY26 PRMRP topic areas and align with a portfolio-specific strategic goal. The program is designed to bridge the gap between basic research findings and clinical application, supporting mature research efforts ready for translation into solutions that address critical problems in military and civilian health. Clinical trials are not permitted under this mechanism, but non-interventional clinical research studies are allowed.
Distinctive features include the option for single or partnering Principal Investigators (PIs), with the latter requiring at least one clinician investigator. The program encourages multidisciplinary collaboration and research relevant to the health of military service members, veterans, and their families, while also supporting dual-use applications for the broader public.
