Summary: Supports high-impact clinical research to accelerate translation of interventions for spinal cord injury, with required community partnerships and an early-career investigator option.
Key Information: Pre-application required; must name at least two SCI community partners in the proposal.
This opportunity supports high-impact, new, or emerging clinical research in spinal cord injury (SCI) that requires preliminary studies—such as feasibility, pilot, or optimization work—to prepare for larger-scale clinical trials or clinical implementation. The program aims to accelerate the translation of interventions and techniques into clinical use by addressing barriers to clinical success, and to identify the most effective diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation options for SCI. Projects must be community-informed, requiring at least two SCI community partners, and may include clinical trials or prospective clinical research (but not animal studies). An Early-Career Partnership Option allows for two PIs, with at least one being an early-career investigator.
