Supports advanced research and technology development to protect deployed military personnel from arthropod-borne diseases and biting arthropods.

--- ## Description The Deployed Warfighter Protection (DWFP) Program supports original and innovative research that advances the protection of deployed military personnel from arthropod vectors of disease (e.g., ticks, mosquitoes) and nuisance biting arthropods. Research should focus on advanced technology development—such as new or improved insecticides, vector control methods, surveillance technologies, or personal protective modalities—with an emphasis on outcomes relevant to both military and civilian populations. Projects must address at least one of the FY26 DWFP focus areas: vector control or vector surveillance/identification. Basic research, clinical studies, and research not directly aligned with these focus areas are not supported. --- ## Due Dates - **Pre-application deadline:** November 28, 2025 (5:00 p.m. ET) - **Invitation to submit full applications:** By January 14, 2026 - **Full application deadline:** March 25, 2026 (11:59 p.m. ET) - **End of application verification period:** April 3, 2026 (5:00 p.m. ET) - **Peer review:** April–July 2026 - **Programmatic review:** July–August 2026 --- ## Funding Amount - **Award ceiling:** $975,000 total per project (including direct and indirect costs) - **Award duration:** Up to 3 years (36 months); maximum of $325,000 per year - **Expected number of awards:** 5 - **Cost sharing/matching:** Not required --- ## Eligibility - **Eligible applicants:** Unrestricted, but the applicant organization must be based in the United States and created or organized under U.S. law.
