    Description

The Devasthali Family Foundation Fund supports arts, education, and efforts addressing child hunger in southern New Mexico. Drs. Ammu and Rama Devasthali created the fund in 2011, and it is housed at the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico (CFSNM). Grants support both new and existing projects that positively impact people across the foundation’s twelve-county service area.

The program prioritizes work that responds to a demonstrated community need and can fulfill the fund’s mission. Review considers the proposed outcomes alongside organizational capacity, financial sustainability, staffing, partnerships, and community involvement. Committees also assess whether funding would assist the nonprofit or leverage additional support, and whether the organization demonstrates project timeliness and successful fiscal management experience.
