This opportunity funds invited stage two applications under the Developmental Pathway Funding Scheme, managed by the Medical Research Council (MRC) through UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). The scheme is designed to support academically-led translational research projects that advance novel therapeutics, medical devices, diagnostics, and other interventions, spanning the full developmental pathway—from early development and pre-clinical testing to early-phase clinical studies (up to phase 2a). The primary aim is to improve prevention, diagnosis, prognosis, or treatment of significant health needs, or to develop tools that accelerate intervention development. Projects must be academic-led but can involve industry or charity partners where this adds value.
