This opportunity provides supplemental funding for existing Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Centers of Excellence (COEs) to conduct advanced, multi-disciplinary research and education activities. The program aims to support projects that break new theoretical and empirical ground, adapt existing approaches to address homeland security missions and technology gaps, and generate original, cutting-edge research results. All proposed research must be rooted in rigorous science and engineering disciplines and be relevant for integration with homeland security stakeholders.
The COEs are university-based research and education centers that address critical homeland security challenges through innovative research, technology development, and workforce training. This funding is intended to expand or enhance activities within the current scope of each COE.
