Description

The NCAA Division III Strategic Initiatives Conference Grant Program allocates funds to conferences and Division III Independents for educational programs and services that address local needs while advancing the Division III strategic plan. Its four primary focus areas are professional development, education and communication; social responsibility and integration; quality of the participation experience; and access, opportunities and connections. An administrative stipend supports grant management and coordination of the required external review.

The program encourages collaboration among presidents, athletics direct reports, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletics representatives, sports information directors and student-athletes. Conferences determine locally meaningful programming through broad-based planning and decision making. Presidential oversight of the process and budget allocations is central to the program, alongside accountability for how funds are distributed and used.
