Description
This grant program, administered by the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), provides substantial funding to local education agencies (LEAs) serving military-connected students. The initiative aims to address the unique academic and support needs of highly mobile military-connected students and to enhance world language learning opportunities in public schools. There are two distinct program tracks:
- Military-Connected Local Educational Agencies for Academic and Support Programs (MCASP): Focuses on academic achievement, professional learning for educators, support services, virtual/distance learning, and practices to ease transitions and deployments.
- World Language Advancement and Readiness Program (WLARP): Supports the establishment, improvement, or expansion of world language programs (including DoD Strategic Languages and ASL) in LEAs that host or have applied to host a JROTC unit.
Applicants may apply for both programs but will only be awarded under one, at DoDEA’s discretion.
