This program funds comprehensive training and technical assistance to improve the capacity of Illinois domestic violence service providers. Under Illinois law, staff and volunteers in domestic violence programs must complete 40 hours of specialized training before providing direct services to victims. The grant supports delivery of these trainings, as well as advanced, specialized, and technical assistance activities, to ensure high-quality, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive support for survivors. The funded organizations work closely with the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) and the established domestic violence system to promote best practices, build staff expertise, and ensure compliance with state guidelines.
