    Description

Presented by the Doris Duke Foundation, this open call is part of Humanity AI, an initiative spearheaded by 10 leading philanthropies. It supports innovative U.S.-based work that strengthens communities’ collective power to shape the development, governance, and use of artificial intelligence. The priority is for communities to lead decisions about AI rather than simply respond to its development and use.

The call centers on three issue areas: education; labor and economy; and humanities, arts, and culture. The foundation lists the opportunity under its National Program for Arts, which advances performing artists’ careers and supports new ways of conceiving, producing, and sharing their work. This opportunity specifically emphasizes community leadership and collective power in shaping AI.
