This opportunity funds investigator-initiated research that advances mature ideas or key discoveries in bone marrow failure (BMF) research, aiming to significantly impact scientific understanding or patient care. Supported research may include translational and clinical research (excluding clinical trials), preclinical models, human data studies, and correlative studies linked to active clinical trials. The program also supports Investigational New Drug (IND)-enabling efforts, including lead compound characterization and preclinical assessments relevant to IND applications. The mechanism encourages multidisciplinary collaborations and offers an option for partnering Principal Investigators (PIs). All projects must address at least one of the program's focus areas: finding effective BMF treatments/cures or understanding BMF disease causes and progression.
