Summary: Supports advanced translational research to accelerate promising Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) projects toward clinical application.
Key Information: Preliminary data required; two funding levels and a Partnering PI Option (PPIO) available.
This opportunity, offered by the Dept. of the Army's USAMRAA through the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Research Program (DMDRP), funds advanced translational research to move promising ideas in Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) toward clinical applications. The program specifically encourages projects that address at least one of the FY26 CTRA Focus Areas and welcomes research on therapies effective across the DMD lifespan.
Two funding levels are available to support either smaller, less complex preclinical/clinical research (Level 1) or larger, more complex projects (Level 2). The award offers a Partnering PI Option (PPIO) to foster collaborations, including early-career and established interdisciplinary investigators from fields outside muscular dystrophy.
Pilot clinical trials and clinical trial readiness studies are allowed. All applications must include preliminary data.
