This opportunity supports conceptually innovative, high-risk/high-reward research projects that could lead to major advancements in lung cancer research and patient outcomes. The mechanism is designed to fund early-stage ideas with the potential to yield impactful data and open new avenues of investigation. Research must address at least one of the FY26 Lung Cancer Research Program (LCRP) Areas of Emphasis, such as biology, prevention, detection, treatment, or survivorship related to lung cancer (excluding mesothelioma). The program includes a New Investigator category, allowing early-career faculty to compete separately from established investigators. All proposals must include preliminary data, though these do not have to be derived from lung cancer studies.
