This opportunity funds planning, development, and pilot studies that generate preliminary data and demonstrate feasibility for future interventional studies in lupus research. Projects must address at least one of the FY26 Lupus Research Program Transformative Vision Development Award (TVDA) focus areas, with the goal of improving the quality of life for individuals with lupus through innovative interventions at the individual or health care system level. The mechanism permits phase 0/1 clinical trials but does not allow phase 2/3 trials or animal research. Each application must include at least one lupus consumer advocate as an integral member of the research team. Successful projects may serve as a foundation for future applications to the Lupus Research Program Transformative Vision Award (TVA) or equivalent funding opportunities.
