--- ## Description This NIH Research Education Program (R25) opportunity is part of the INCLUDE (INvestigation of Co-occurring conditions across the Lifespan to Understand Down syndromE) Project, which aims to improve health and quality of life for individuals with Down syndrome (DS). The program specifically seeks to expand and diversify the DS clinical research workforce by supporting the development and implementation of creative, immersive short courses. These courses should provide hands-on educational experiences in clinical research skills relevant to DS and its co-occurring conditions, ultimately supporting the development of new treatments and improving understanding of DS-related health challenges. The program is designed to address gaps in clinical research training for DS, particularly in areas such as research design, biostatistics, and team science, which are not typically covered in standard medical or graduate education. Courses may range from one week to a maximum of 12 weeks and should target graduate/medical students, medical residents, postdoctoral scholars, and/or early-career faculty. --- ## Due Dates - **Application Deadline:** June 27, 2025 (for new, renewal, resubmission, and revision applications) - All applications are due by 5:00 PM local time of the applicant organization. - The funding opportunity expires September 8, 2025. --- ## Funding Amount - **Maximum Direct Costs:** $400,000 per year - **Project Duration:** Up to 5 years - **Number of Awards:** Contingent on NIH appropriations and the number of meritorious applications Budget requests should reflect the actual needs of the proposed project.
