--- ## Description The E. Ann Nalley Regional Awards for Volunteer Service to the American Chemical Society recognize individuals who have made significant volunteer contributions to the ACS’s goals and objectives through their regional activities. Established in 2006 by ACS Past President E. Ann Nalley, the award celebrates outstanding volunteerism, leadership, and the initiation or sponsorship of impactful projects at the regional level. The award is presented at ACS regional meetings and is intended to continue in perpetuity as a tribute to Dr. Nalley’s commitment to ACS volunteer service. --- ## Due Dates - August 15, 2025: Most ACS regional meetings (including SERMACS & SWRM) - August 16, 2024: Midwest Region (MWRM) Nomination deadlines may vary by region. Check your regional meeting’s website for the most current information. --- ## Funding Amount - The award consists of a plaque or medallion honoring the recipient. - No cash prize is associated with this award. --- ## Eligibility - Nominee must be a current member of the American Chemical Society. - Must reside in a local section within the relevant ACS region. - Recognizes significant volunteer contributions to the region, including, but not limited to: - Initiation or sponsorship of impactful projects - Exemplary leadership in regional activities - Past and present members of the ACS Board of Directors and ACS staff are **not eligible**. - The regional awards committee (or equivalent) selects the recipient. --- ## Application Process - Nominations may be submitted by any individual (except members of the selection committee). - Required materials typically include: - Narrative statement describing the nominee’s volunteer service and impact - Biographical sketch or curriculum vitae (CV) - Letters of support (number may vary by region) - Submission instructions and deadlines are specific to each ACS region.
