Summary: Supports early career historians to organize one-day workshops on British history in the ‘long’ seventeenth century, fostering collaborative and innovative research.
The Early Career Workshop Funds, supported by the Conrad & Elizabeth Russell Fund and administered through the British History in the Seventeenth Century seminar at the Institute of Historical Research (IHR), are designed to promote scholarly collaboration and advance research networks among early career historians. The program specifically supports the organization of one-day workshops focusing on British history during the ‘long’ seventeenth century, with a strong preference for projects that integrate social, cultural, transnational, comparative, gendered, marginalised, or cross-disciplinary perspectives. The aim is to encourage innovative approaches and critical discussion within the field, particularly relating to political, religious, and constitutional history between the Reformation and the civil wars.
