    Description

The Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation (NETRF) launched this research opportunity to improve earlier and more accurate identification of neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs). It supports innovative approaches that overcome limitations of existing biomarkers and imaging, including biomarker assays, imaging tools, risk-prediction and decision-support models, and longitudinal or digital monitoring.

Projects should focus on defined clinical or high-risk settings where earlier detection could change management or improve patient outcomes. Examples include suggestive symptoms, incidental lesions, hereditary predisposition, precursor conditions, and post-treatment surveillance. NETRF encourages collaborative, multidisciplinary studies and work involving understudied populations, including pediatric and adolescent/young adult patients, rare primary sites, and historically underrepresented groups. Earlier detection alone is insufficient: proposals should explain how results could guide intervention, surveillance, or clinical decisions.
