This opportunity provides substantial federal funding to help communities and regions recover from major disasters declared in 2021 and 2022, including Hurricanes Ian and Fiona, wildfires, flooding, and other natural disasters. The program supports both construction and non-construction projects that devise and implement long-term economic recovery strategies, with a focus on resilience, equity, and sustainable development.
Eligible projects may include infrastructure construction or upgrades (including broadband), workforce development initiatives, revolving loan funds, disaster recovery planning, commercialization centers, technical assistance, and more. Projects must primarily benefit areas with a qualifying Presidential disaster declaration under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act.
