Description
This program, administered by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) through the National Center for Education Research (NCER), funds projects that develop, test, and disseminate new or improved statistical and research methods, or create toolkits, guidelines, compendia, review papers, and curated data resources for education researchers. The goal is to provide methodological innovations and resources that enable more rigorous and relevant education research, including addressing emerging challenges such as artificial intelligence in education, core components research, advanced data analysis techniques, and creation of accessible data resources.
Applicants must choose between two topics:
- Core Grants: Develop and test new or improved statistical and research methods for use by education researchers, including user testing and broad dissemination.
- Toolkits, Guidelines, Compendia, Review Papers, and Curated Data Resources: Compile and disseminate existing research and methods into accessible products for education researchers, with user testing and wide dissemination.
Projects are expected to engage with end users, demonstrate alignment with the Standards for Excellence in Education Research (SEER), and plan for open science and broad access to products.
